Hey JC,
 
All valid points, JC. The smartest things you said were the need to talk at length with your doc, and being willing to give up a summer of long rides for long-term health. Sometimes the short-term sacrifice must be made to meet the long-term goals, and this is coming from someone who would like to see you do Shoreline this summer.

Ultimately, after talking with your doc and friends and family who care about you, it is your decision. I think it's great that you are getting all this exercise, and warm weather is right around the corner so there will be lots of nice days to walk coming up. Have you lost any weight on this program? That may well be what it comes down to for you -- can you lose the amount of weight you want to -- and need to for good long-term health -- without Lap-Band? Or have you arrived at a point where you need some help to reach your goals?
