MY NEXT BIKE RIDE

 

This coming weekend I go home to Louisville for the first time in a while. Some family and friends saw me at a wedding 3 weeks post op (probably 25 down.) My mother saw me the week of the operation (maybe 15-20 down), but not since. And a bunch of others have not seen me since at least Father's Day.

 

Those who have not seen me since Father's Day are in for a 66 pound surprise!

 

Saturday will be the UC-UofL game, Tailgating and enjoying life.

 

Sunday will be my niece's volleyball game and my nephew's football game.

 

But, best of all, my 7 year old niece has learned to ride a bike! She rode four miles today and has asked me to go on a bike ride with her soon. She wrote me a letter today, and was so excited that she called me to tell me she wrote a letter about riding a bike. So, Sunday, after the sporting events, weather permitting, I will be riding with my 7 year old niece!

 

I am truly looking forward to it. If this goes well, every time I go to Louisville, I hope to take her to a park for a ride. (yes, I had to share the tale).

 

So, the most amazing thing, is that since I am now so much healthier- I GET TO RIDE MY BIKE WITH MY NIECE! A year ago, odds are I would not have been able. NOW I CAN!

 

Life is good.
